Bell Ringing with St Petrocks Tower Bell Ringers. Our aim is to ring the bells for church services, weddings etc as required. We practice on Tuesday evenings meeting at 7.30 pm until 9.00 pm and experienced ringers are always welcome. Cycling – Lydford is at the southern end of the Granite Way, where cyclists can follow the path of the old London & South Western Railway Line, north towards Okehampton, passing over both the spectacular granite Lake viaduct and England’s tallest steel viaduct at Meldon.

Swimming – while Lydford has no official pool of its own. many residents and visitors take the short walk to Black Rock where the brave can cool down in the many pools formed in this stretch of the Lyd.

Walking – With easy access to 365 square miles of Dartmoor, the walker is spoilt for choice. The Gorge and Lydford Forest offer great walks in complete contrast to the moorland. (links to a town walk, medium walk to Widgery Cross and Black Rock and a long walk to Bleak House, the Rattlebrook Railway and back via Fox & Hounds and the Granite Way.
